ANNUAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 28, 2008 at 6:30pm
VEASEY PARK
Dear Friends of Veasey Park Member,

The FRIENDS OF VEASEY will be hosting its Annual General Meeting Thurs. on Feb. 28th @6:30 p.m. at Veasey Park and invite you to come, renew your membership, and bring a friend.

We are actively trying to expand our membership and to introduce the Park and its possibilities to the community at large.  Much has changed and much is envisioned and we need you!  Since 2005 the FRIENDS have worked to fulfill their mission which is to "assist with the financial stability of Veasey Park and to promote activities that will promote public use and to keep in perpetuity the historic, scenic, and environmental value of the park for the community".

If Veasey's possibilities are going to manifest we need to expand this group.  We want to make it very easy for you and everyone to participate.  Of, course, we need your membership money but we also need your time, mind and leadership skills.
   ~ WE NEED YOU ~

There are people who just want to pay their dues, no small thing itself and many thanks to them - we know that nothing happens without financial support.

There are people who have only limited time available to them for this sort of community service.  We want you.  If that's what you can do, we promise that you'll be on that list, as there are many different types of activities that go on at the park and they all need volunteers.  Often that requires a separate subcommittee to deal with only that one event and we promise to be sensitive to meeting times, time constraints and child care needs.  You can be there either heading up or supporting that event or you can just be depended on to show up and staff it.

If you can make a bigger contribution, we want you.  We hope to have regular, organized monthly meetings to plan upcoming events and administer the FRIENDS resources.  Yes, you may lead a group, or have to take the initiative to explore a possibility.  We are eager for input and will welcome you.

We will be electing new officers soon and are soliciting interested people to provide this very valuable service,  Please call one of the people at the bottom of the page and tell us about yourself and ask about us.

~ THANKS TO ALL ~

While we are excited about the approach we're taking to expand the FRIENDS, we're unendingly grateful to those brave and stalwart souls who began the FRIENDS in 2005.  They make it happen and we are thankful to them.  They provided a valuable community service and continue to do so.  They're not going away - thankfully - just making room for you.

Because we're serving refreshments, please RSVP – or if you need any further information.
