Typically, we would like the art to stay up for 6 weeks. Open House: Ideally, at some point during the 6 weeks an Open House will be scheduled according to what works best for you and the park’s event schedule. This is not mandatory but certainly is encouraged and will be an opportunity to expose your work. Food and refreshments will be supplied mostly by the artist, the park will help with the food as much as it can but is not guaranteed. Alcohol may NOT be served during the open house unless a liquor license has been issued from the town. Additional viewing: The building is not left unlocked so if someone would like to see your work they may make an appointment with Megan, (usually need about a days notice) or you may be provided with the key to show the work. Please remember that the room is frequently in use so please try to check ahead to see if the space is scheduled for use. The Space: The Boardroom is used primarily for meetings but is home to classes and private parties. The space is generally not rented for children’s birthday parties or events where the primary guest is children. The room offers adjustable lighting and has a large conference table with wooden chairs. We are involved with a restoration of a Parlor Grand Piano. The piano is covered in an off white cover. Work may be displayed on top of the piano if you like. Artist will sign a waiver. Hanging the Art work: An artist has donated funding for picture handing molding. On certain occasions, artist panels may be available for use. These are kindly on loan to us from the Town of Georgetown; therefore they are not a guarantee. Press / Press Release: The park will work with the artist and combine marketing efforts to create interest and exposure for the work as well as the “Open House”. The park will: · Compose a Press Release that will be sent to local papers including the West Newbury News, Eagle Tribune and The Globe. · The park will add a page to their website, www.veaseypark.org to include any promo literature that artist has as well as any scanned work. · The park will also create a post card sized hand out to advertise the Open House and other viewing hours. In return, we would like the artist to: · Send a bio /resume / artist statement for the purposes of the press release /website · Utilize any personal mailing / email lists that they have built up and conducting an email blast / traditional mailing etc
Once again, thank you for your participation in this endeavor and for ensuring it continues to be a success. For any additional questions, please contact Megan at 978 521 9345.
