Oct 16 Newsletter

Crisp air, falling leaves, and Goats-to-Go in the meadow.  Must be Fall at Veasey!

We invite you to carve pumpkins with us on Oct 25th!    We'll provide the space, set everything up, supply carving tools, and even have Apple Cider available!  What do you need to do?  Sign-up so we can set-up accordingly, bring a pumpkin to carve, and be ready to have fun!  After you've carved your pumpkin, you could drop it off at Town Hall to display at Groveland's Pumpkin Fest on Oct. 26th!  Our Pumpkin Carving event is sponsored by the Friends of Veasey, who make free, community events possible at Veasey.  Donations are welcome at this free event!

After carving a pumpkin, perhaps you'd be curious about wood carving?  Justin Gordon, professional sculptor and wood carver, has been meeting up with fellow wood carvers for over 20 years on Tuesdays from 6pm to 9pm. (Right after Pumpkin Carving!).  This group welcomes those new to the craft.  Reach out to Justin for more information.   Community-run groups like the Wood Carvers Meet-up is one of my favorite things about Veasey Park!  Did you know that there is a group of Swing Dancers who meet weekly to practice and the American Legion group for Veterans meets monthly?  Do you have an idea for a weekday, community meet-up and would like to use space here?  Plein air painting group?    Knitting for a cause?  ️  Jam session?    Exercise accountability meet-ups?    Let us know!

Looking for volunteer opportunities?  We have them!  Want to help us run the Pumpkin Carving workshop?  Sign up here! Check out our volunteer page and our new Teen Volunteer program for current requests.

For more community fun, check out what our friends are offering at The ArcThe Groveland Garden Club, Spooky Saturday at the Langley LibraryGroveland Historical Society with NE Ghost Project at Washington Hall (spooky tales!), painting and more at the COA!
